Erika is a gift to our Living Well team. She has a wide range of experience which includes working with individuals, couples and families, as well as children and adolescents. Erika’s calm compassion, strong empathy, and non-judgmental nature will help you feel accepted and understood on your path to change. She trained under world-renowned psychologist, Dr. Michael Yapko and completed training with one of the world’s leading romantic relationship experts, Dr. John Gottman.

Erika uses an eclectic approach, depending on the needs of the client, drawing primarily from Client-Centred/Rogerian, Cognitive Behavioural, and Solution Focused Therapy. For couples she works with a Gottman-based approach. In addition, Erika will incorporate other methods when necessary including Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Family Systems Therapy. She uses methods proven by research to move towards positive results.

Erika believes in collaboration and client feedback. She will work closely with you to hear your concerns and achieve your goals. If there is anything you do or do not want from counselling, she will ensure that this is incorporated into your work together.
