In helping couples, Karla draws on Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottman-based Therapy, in addition to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Karla understands that clients may seek a spiritual integration into their therapeutic work. Therefore, as clients request, Karla is able to use her Christian faith and other spiritual resources to guide clients through the difficult challenges in life. Karla respects the range of needs clients have and so is also able to establish treatment plans with individuals who do not wish to incorporate aspects of faith, but wish to rather work together using psychological principles alone.
